When I first visited Chicago, I was thirteen. One, serendipitous trip with family. Gazing up at the city’s and a green champagne bottle of a building (Carbide & Carbon Building) and I knew—from then on the Windy City would have a special place in my heart. Since then, I’ve visited over half a dozen times since, and the city still has the same effect on me. If I were a first-timer to Chicago, and only had the weekend to explore its charm, here’s how I’d plan it.
Visit during Summer. Chi-Town is the epitome of summer in America! With a heavy rotation of food and music festivals, scrumptious patio restaurants, and on the lake, Chicago quite literally has it all.
Stay near Grant Park. Located in the Chicago Loop area, Grant Park is a central, sprawling green space that serves as one of the city’s most . It is bordered by Lake Michigan to the east, Millennium Park to the north, and the Grant Park provides an ample base to reach anywhere in the city, with plenty to do at your doorstep.
