Meet Kayla
Your get-up-and-go travel bestie!
Hi, friend!
I’m Kayla, a Maryland-based girl with a passion for immersive traveling and the author of The Limitless Luggage. My aim is for this site to inspire you, motivate you, and provide you with the resources to get up and go experience more of the world.
Back in college, I majored in Philosophy. That’s just a fancy way of saying I spent four years earning a degree in asking the “why” questions. For example:
- Why does the world work this way and not that way?
- Why have human civilizations developed at relatively the same pace throughout history?
- Why is it socially acceptable to travel in retirement but not in your 20s?
Like many people, the daily grind of life—school, work, family and friend obligations, more school, more work—prevented me from reflecting on them seriously. Until I made a conscious effort to prioritize the experiences that excited me, even if that meant doing them alone!
Since then, my passion for examining the “why” questions has lead me to study abroad in South Korea and Spain, experience the Olympics in France, solo-travel through the Scottish highlands, walk alongside elephants in Thailand, and more.
So here’s my question for you: Why are you waiting?
Whether inwardly or logistically, let’s figure it out together, and let’s make your experiences a reality.

Frequently Asked Questions
What kind of traveler are you?
The kind that’s curious about how person, place, cuisine, culture, and faith all fit together. I have a deep-seated passion for experiences that expand my conception of what I think the world is and who we are as humans. That’s probably the philosopher in me, though!
Do you travel full-time?
Not yet! It would be amazing to travel full-time. Currently, I’m putting my Master of Public Health (MPH) to good use, working in health policy management.
How do you afford to travel so much?
Prioritization. I think it’s important to prioritize both your time and your values. We all value certain luxuries over others. For me, experiencing more of the world just happens to be higher on the list! Here’s an example of some items I typically scale back on so that I can book the next trip.
Who do you call when you first land somewhere?
First and foremost, my sister! Although she already has my location, she’s my go-to emergency contact. Honorable mentions: Mom and Dad, who usually dog-sit my 5-year-old pooch, Preacher, while I’m off galavanting!
